U.S. Intervention (blog 14)
To those who may be pro U.S. Intervention.......shame on you [insert me shaking my head here.] The whole idea of the United States being MORE THAN WILLING to help other countries is quite noble but lets be realistic here, we have internal conflicts arising and we simply do not have enough resources to ration to other countries at this time right now. I have a question for you all.......do you really think that if we had another civil war other countries would intervene for us? If so what side do you think the other country would take.....naturally they would take the GOVERNMENT'S side without even flinching. The U.N. would NOT even DARE be concerned with the whole reasoning on why citizens would be back lashing against the government they would be on the outside looking in.....does that remind you of something more so SOMEONE IN PARTICULAR ????? Do we REALLY KNOW what was going on in Somalia or in Rwanda, in conflicts today do we know whats really going on in Egypt or in Libya? What I am trying to convey to you all is that we only know what they (meaning the government of the other country or the [VICTIM]) wants us to know and what the United States wants us to know. I feel that they only tell us what they want us to know......to manipulate the situation so we would be more than willing to extend a hand while these other countries are in so called "NEED" and if this really is the case then so help us all we are allowing ourselves to be more vulnerable to them and for these countries to strike us when the time is right EACH AND EVERY DAY [insert again me shaking my head] So while we continue to allow ourselves to get _____ in the ____ heading into this next decade I'm going to be potty training Professor X (yes off of X-Men.)

Global Warming
As we all know global warming is yet another excuse for companies in order to recieve tax write-offs or recieve federal money because the company is "going green." I feel that global warming is quite essential to our everyday lives not as a premise to use as a scapegoat for humans mistreating the earth but because we fail to realize that this is our home and we are the only species that can guide the world's future.
People say that global warming is just a mild climate change that happens every so often but lets think about if it wasn't, lets think about what if this "mild climate change" was just the beginning for what ever is to come next. I do believe that global warming is really occurring as we speak, I also believe that global warming is sometimes over-exaggerated but nevertheless I believe that we as a whole need to take measures that plateaus global warming and can put a stop to what consequences that could happen next.

Keystone Pipeline
The proposal for the keystone pipeline is in effect. Though the development for the pipeline will start sometime in 2020 the decision on rather the keystone pipeline is rather urgent, should Obama "punt" the proposal until next year or should he make a decision relatively soon? I might sound bias when I say this (because I'm from Kansas) but I really do believe that this decision should be made within the next 3 to 6 months, the reason being is because there are serious cons about this pipeline that could drastically affect its surroundings and since the pipeline is being considered, I believe the cons need to be examined a lot more thoroughly. As I continue to vividly think about this pipeline I wonder what could happen if there was a spill? What would my community do? What if the spill occurred near the city I reside in? How would the President respond to the catastrophe? This is just a sample of questions that I feel that the executive office will not have sufficient answers for which greatly scares me. As I've been reading through articles I have been noticing that the Environmental Protection Agency is willing to go for the proposition but then adds that the country will "literally be split in half"??? They are the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION Agency not the ETHICAL PROTECTION Agency why worry about side dishes (ethics) when there is steak on your plate?? that confused me by far. A protestor named Bill Mckibben said "The Keystone XL pipeline was pushed through by the worst kind of political cronyism, exactly the kind of thing President Obama promised to stamp out in Washington. The American people deserve better." what does that quote mean to you????? In my opinion that quote is really making a rather bold premise don't you think?
If you are not sure about my position with this proposal let it be known that I AM NOT FOR THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE!!! I believe it is purely about the profit and efficiency and I also believe that the communities that surround the pipeline INCLUDING MY COMMUNITY are not even being considered in the decision which is truly unfortunate :-(. In other words I just want to say happy Thursday and cheers to the week's end :-)
